Terms
Terms and conditions
Plain versions of the things that actually matter here: what you are buying, how access to it works, and what this product does not claim to be.
This page still contains placeholders in double brackets. Until an operator fills them in and has the result reviewed, it describes intent rather than stating enforceable terms.
1Who you are dealing with
Belief Compass is operated by [[operator]], at [[address]]. Questions about these terms go to [[contact email]].
Payments are handled by Gumroad, which acts as merchant of record. For the paid report your purchase contract is therefore with Gumroad, and its terms and refund handling apply to the transaction itself. These terms cover your use of this site.
2What this is, and what it is not
A questionnaire scored against a published matrix of sourced doctrinal positions. It reports how closely your answers match each of 65 traditions, with the reasons shown.
It is not advice — not religious, spiritual, psychological, medical or legal. It does not tell you what to believe, does not assess you as a person, and is not a diagnosis of anything. The report is generated from the matrix rather than written by a language model, so the same answers always produce the same report, but a deterministic output is not an authoritative one.
3The questionnaire and the free result
Free, with no account. Your answers stay in your browser and are never sent to us — that is described in full on the privacy page, and it is an architectural property rather than a promise about our conduct.
Because we never receive your answers, we cannot recover, transfer or delete them for you. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them completely.
4The paid report, and how access works
One payment of €9 for the full report. There is no account and no subscription.
Access lives in the browser you paid from. Payment returns a token that your browser stores; the report is then assembled locally from the answers already there. That has a consequence worth being clear about: clearing this site’s data, switching browser or device, or paying in a private window will lose access, and because we hold no account we cannot restore it. Buy it in the browser you intend to read it in, and use the PDF export if you want a copy that outlives the browser.
5Refunds and cancellation
Handled by Gumroad as merchant of record, under its refund policy.
Consumers in the EU and UK normally have fourteen days to cancel a digital purchase, unless they have agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged losing that right — which is typical for something delivered the moment payment clears. Exactly which applies here depends on how checkout is configured: [[refund and withdrawal terms]].
6Accuracy, and being wrong
The matrix describes 65 traditions on 17 axes, and every cell cites a source. It has not been through practitioner review, and it will be wrong somewhere.
Nothing here is warranted to be accurate, complete or current, and the calibration figures published on the method page measure internal consistency rather than real-world accuracy. If a position is wrong, tell us — corrections are applied to the cell, the source is updated, and the change is recorded publicly.
7Using the site
Read it, take it, share your result, quote it with attribution. Do not present its output as anyone’s actual beliefs, misrepresent it as professional advice, or republish the matrix or the question bank wholesale as your own work. Do not attempt to disrupt the service for other people.
8Availability and changes
The site is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. Content, questions, matrix values and prices may change, and these terms may change; material changes will be dated here. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
9Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, liability arising from your use of this site is limited to the amount you paid, if any.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and any statutory rights you have as a consumer, which are unaffected by anything on this page.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [[jurisdiction]], and disputes are subject to the courts of [[jurisdiction]]. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your own country of residence.
This page is written to be read, not to be litigated. It is not legal advice, and it has not been drafted or reviewed by a lawyer. If any of it matters to you commercially, have it reviewed.
